The other pictures if of all of those that won a medal (except for Grandpa who won 2nd place in his division).

I was really proud of our kids. Reese placed first in his division, running the race in 31+ minutes. Grandpa ran it with him and before crossing the finish line ran back to find Keely and her friend who ran it in 33+ minutes and she placed 2nd in her division. Koby, who does not love running, did impressively well. His goal was to not stop the whole way and beat his previous time of 37 minutes. He was successful in that he kept going the whole time and came in at 37 minutes. Right on Koby! We will make a runner of you yet.

The only thing we were missing was t-shirts that said "Family Circus". We will have to make those for the Fourth of July Freedom run. She is at that stage when she knows she has an audience and continually flirts with every one, unless they try to hold her and then she screams. I think that my going to young womens camp for a week next Tuesday will be a good thing for her.
I believe she is going to be a real talker. Her first word was "da-da" of coarse but now she is saying her first sentence. When she gets tired of me trying to force food in her face she says "Ahh Duh!" which stands for "All done." I have learned to respect that unless I want baby food splatered all over me and the kitchen.

Life is good. We are greatful for the goodness of God as we see his hand in our lives daily. The kids all got RSV, which is a nasty cold for older kids but can be very serious for infants. Sage did develop bronchiolitis and an ear infection with it but fortunately, she didn't have to be hospitalized. The other kids suffered in various degrees. Koby was the worst with a fever for five days and a nasty cough. Megan and Tessa both had a nasty cough, fever and ear infections and Keely and Reese hardly got sick at all. As miserable of two weeks it was, I feel very blessed that it wasn't worse.

The fun news was that all of the kids participated in their school story-telling festival with hopes of advancing on to the world renowned Timpanogos Story-Telling Festival held in Orem, Utah. Some of the highlights were having family in town for the Christmas and New Years holidays. It has been a long time since all of the Harding cousins have been together all at once and so it was crazy but a lot of fun.

The most exciting thing for us was that Koby (child #2) was baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on January 3rd. After turning eight (the minimal age for baptism) a week before Christmas, Koby had been waiting anxiously for this day. Chad and I believe strongly in letting our children decide for themselves whether or not they want to join the church. We teach them what we feel is write and encourage them to think and pray for their own confirmation of whether or not they agree with the teachings of Jesus Christ and want to dedicate their lives to him. Koby took this challenge very seriously and had some concerns and doubts of his own, but after much thought and prayer he came to us a few months ago and said, "Mom and Dad, I had an answer and I want to be baptized when I turn eight." We were very excited not only at his decision to join the church but at the maturity with which he came to that decision. He is a special kid and has great things ahead of him.

Another highlight was that we took all of our kids to the Draper Temple open house, where we all got to go into the temple and tour the sacred building ( which, after dedication, is only available to older adults who are living a code of worthiness who get to enter). The kids were on their very best behavior and told us how much they liked the peace and special spirit they felt there. In fact they behaved so well that after they got out it was like they had to expend all of that pent up energy that they had held back that all chaos broke out. It is now funny looking back but at the moment I was about to get the duct tape out and tie them down. It was a neat experience.

We have decided that Sage is one of the happiest kids we have ever had. She loves to smile and keep us laughing and she is only 5 months old. I wonder if she will turn out to be the biggest Conrad ham. I say Conrad because us Hardings don't have a spark of ham in us. So any goofyness comes directly from Chad. Her newest discovery is to shake her head back and forth until she or us are dizzy. We are having a lot of fun with her and that kids all fight for her attention, although I am not sure that is a good thing.

Until next time.conradclanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10353329659163564345noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8162373906210704933.post-12274875301888220162009-01-14T14:30:00.001-08:002009-01-14T15:28:11.059-08:00What Have I Done?I said I would never create a blog but with family and friends far away I gave into the pressure. I thought were supposed to get over peer presure in our teens. Obviously not or maybe I am a teenager stuck in a 30 year old body. You can ask my kids their opinion on that one.

Here's to all of you loved ones far away. I cannot guarantee entertainment or regularity but hopefully you might get some cute pictures of the kids. Thats all these are good for right?

Why the House at Pooh Corner? Well I do have two kids in diapers right now but that's not really why. Chad has this uncanny way of renaming every aspect of our life. We don't eat normal food but things like Rattlesnake Stew (taco soup), Cowhide soup (tortilla soup), Frogleg Casserole (chicken casserole w/broccoli) and so forth. Our cars have names and I have several weird names (that I won't mention). Thus our house has been renamed the House at Pooh Corner because we live in the corner of a cul-de-sac and like Winnie the Pooh.

Life with six kids if fun, crazy, exciting, tiring, and the best thing of our lives. We wouldn't trade it for the world although we might for a weekend once in a while. They each have their distinct personalities and keep us laughing or crying. We thank God for the chance to grow as we raise some of His children.conradclanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10353329659163564345noreply@blogger.com0
